Sabar Dairy hikes milk procurement prices

Palanpur: Close on the heels of Dudhsagar Dairy, Himmatnagar-based Sabar Dairy also hiked the milk procurement prices from Monday.
JD Patel, general manger of the dairy, said the new board which took over the management on MArch 18 has increased the rate by Rs. 20 per kilo fat for buffalo milk and Rs. 10 per kilo fat in cow milk.
“About six lakh milk producers will be benefited by the hike," said PAtel.
Meawhile, Mehsana-based Dudhsagar Dairy, which was served anotice by district election officer over the hike for alleged violation of model code of conduct, has effected the hike. The dairy's vic-chairman Moghji Patel said the district election officer's had asked the management to furnish the permission letter allowing them to announce the hike in milk procurement prices. " We have implemented the hike from Monday after giving the explanation," he added.
