Verka Milk stealing scandal unearthed by officials

Samrala : The officials of Verka milk plant, who have unearthed milk stealing scandal by its drivers, have revealed that the drivers used to throw 1,700 litres of water daily while cleaning the tanker. The officials claimed that negligence by any of the employee would not be tolerated, revealed Jaswant
On the complaint of Ludhiana Verka milk plant Directors Singh Hawas and Kulwinder Singh Payal, the Samrala police have booked driver Jagpal Singh, a resident of Ghulal village, Karamjit Singh, a resident of Chamkaur Sahib for stealing 1,700 litres of milk from the tanker of milk plant.
The accused have been booked under section 420,380,120 of the IPC. The investigations have revealed that the accused were involved in stealing of milk on daily basis for the last 3 years.
The Directors claimed that they were tipped off that accused driver Jagpal Singh and Karamjeet Singh were involved in stealing of the milk.
They said that the Chair constituted a six-member committee to unearth the whole scam. They also added that when the committee members caught the drivers red-handed, they found that the driver used to store 1,700 litres of water by replacing the milk.
The said accused drivers used to throw the water while cleaning the tanker and later used to bring the tanker for weighing after which, they used to leave the milk plant.
They said that they were after the accused for the last one year and finally laid a successful trap last week.
The Directors said that when manager Surjit Singh Bhadur asked the driver to weigh the vehicle, Rampur found that the weight was 91 quintals 35 kg and when the empty vehicle was weighed the weight was 78 quintals 50 kg.
When the weight was done at Ludhiana centre, the recorded weight was 61 quintals 50 kg. They said after taking weight measurements, they raised suspicions and the whole conspiracy of storing the separate tank tanker was revealed.
